Cameron's connection to plants and outdoor spaces began long before he became a designer. His early career in horticulture started on a vineyard in Kent, where he developed a practical understanding of how landscapes grow, evolve and respond to care. While running his own gardening and landscaping business, he deepened this knowledge through formal horticultural study at Hadlow College, building the foundations of the thoughtful approach he brings to design today.
After five years of working hands on with gardens, Cameron followed a long held ambition to become a garden designer. He trained at the Inchbald School of Garden Design, graduating in 2020 with a distinction, and soon after established his design practice. At Inchbald he refined his drawing skills, strengthened his creative process and began shaping his own design philosophy: gardens should be beautiful, functional and grounded in nature, but they should also tread lightly on the environment.
Sustainability sits at the heart of Cameron's work. His designs explore how materials, planting and construction choices can reduce impact while still delivering spaces that feel calm, contemporary and uplifting. This mindset is fuelled by his love of the outdoors; when he is not sketching or designing, he is often travelling, hiking or exploring landscapes that inspire new ideas and deepen his connection to the natural world.
Cameron's practical background as a gardener is central to the way he designs. Years spent working directly with plants have given him an instinct for structure, form and seasonality, along with a clear understanding of how gardens grow and how people use them. His sketches and planting studies are rooted in observation, helping him translate natural patterns into gardens that feel effortless, balanced and perfectly suited to the lives of the people who use them.
